“We know we can compete with the best countries in the region. We just have to continue putting ourselves in these situations.”

Hernandez’s sixth-place finish gave the Philippines its strongest individual result while reinforcing his role throughout the four-round championship. He will begin his senior year at Denver and could play a fifth collegiate season before eventually turning professional.
Hong Kong Completes Wire-to-Wire Nomura Cup Victory
Hong Kong combined for a final-round 136 to complete a wire-to-wire championship with a 19-under-par aggregate of 557. Markus Lam fired a 67 while Ethan Tian added a 69, helping Hong Kong finish four strokes ahead of Japan.
Japan closed with a 138 for 561 as Kaito Sato recorded a 68 and Taisei Nagasaki contributed a 70. Korea also shot 138 and secured third at 568, finishing two strokes ahead of the Philippines in the team standings.

“It’s a tough pill to swallow, but we gave it our best till the very end,” Suzuki said.
Hernandez similarly described fourth place as a respectable result despite the Philippines narrowly missing a medal in the regional championship. The finish capped a campaign where the team remained within podium contention before Korea secured bronze by two strokes.
“Managing to finish fourth as a team is still a solid job,” Hernandez said.
