The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers would be the team that could defeat the top team Creamline Cool Smashers. Their winning record against Sherwin Meneses’ team and coaching staff speaks for itself. Nonetheless, the ladies in pink and white came out on top in Game 1 of the PVL All-Filipino Conference semifinal match between the two clubs.
Losing in four sets marked the first time that F2 had fallen to Creamline in the PVL, and it was an untimely defeat considering what was at stake. Coach Regine Diego spoke on her team’s performance in the final frame of the semifinals opener.
“It’s part of their trend [F2 players]. Trend nila ‘yun . . . That’s why it’s very hard for us coaches na i-push sila kasi when they stop, they totally stop. So, I still have to find the motivation, or the things that I should say, or ano ‘yung mga hugot na kailangan kong sabihin to make them up,” Diego said after the game.
The seasoned libero, who is now the coach of the DLSU Lady Spikers, is well aware of the significance of competing for a place in the Finals. Coach Regine would undoubtedly want her cargo movers to comprehend this in the same way that she does. She also needs her players to understand that they must take advantage of opportunities.
“Kasi hindi puwedeng ‘ganon. This is the semifinals. It’s either you give your heart out or nothing. I hope they learn from that kasi it’s very important. This is not just a random game. This is the semifinals. This is a different ball game,” Diego explained.
In Game 2, which will be played on Tuesday at the MOA Arena in Pasay City, Diego challenges the team to show that they have learned their lesson in time.
